First founded in the 1830’s, Otisville was home to both a mill as well as a railroad station opened by the Pere Marquette Railroad in 1874. In 2014, the Otisville Hot Dog Festival marked its second appearance. The only one of its kind in the state, this festival featured all the best aspects of a small town festival including carnival rides, softball tournaments, food, live music and craft show. It also offered a variety of other activities such as a 5K, hot dog throwing contests, tug of war and other fun “hot dog themed” activities.
