The village of Millington is a quaint and welcoming community in Tuscola County. Roughly 1.35 square miles, this popular bedroom community is home to around 1,500 year-round residents. Considered a bedroom community for both Flint as well as Saginaw, Millington is primarily known for its manufacturing and agricultural related jobs.

First founded in the mid 1800’s, Millington was named after the creek running through the center of what would later become the community. The first European settlers began arriving in 1850 and by 1856, Millington had its first school and not long after, its post office. Finally incorporated in 1877, the village thrived thanks to it’s sawmill and later, the arrival of the railroad. In 2004, Millington celebrated its 150th anniversary and today, Millington remains a welcoming community, proud of its history.

One of the most popular recreational areas for residents of Millington is called Arthur Latham Park. Roughly 80 acres in size, this popular recreational area features exercise trails and nature trails, picnic areas, perennially gardens, a disc golf course, soccer fields, softball fields and plenty of places for kids to play.

Too often, many who suffer from rheumatic conditions find themselves being less active due to pain associated with their illness. While many of these types of conditions are not curable, the right treatments, exercise and diets can help those suffering enjoy a better quality of life. While it is never to late to start, the sooner you do, the more likely you are to feel better and be able to do many of the things you may otherwise have been unable to.
